Your Dolomites Vacation With Expert Gary Scott

G'day & Aloha, my name is Gary Scott and I invite you to come and explore some of the most fun places on the planet with me!

I am a professional walking and adventure travel guide and over the last 30 years I have safely led over 1,000 people on various adventures all over the world. I am very fortunate to spend my life traveling with great people to great places.

I love meeting new people and I love to explore new places. My niche and my passion is to find really cool, fun and unique places to take people to - and then to have a fun, active and healthy time when we get there - if it isn't super spectacular and amazing - I don't go there!

In May and June and October this year I will be offering seven-day sailing trips along the spectacular Croatian coast (a gem of the Mediterranean - to the east of Italy). We'll set sail with 6 - 8 guests, a captain and a cook/ hostess, and me as your escort. You'll have your own cabin on our own very cool yacht. We'll explore remote islands, secret beaches and coves, and have time to hike, bike, snorkel, dive, swim, kayak, relax, eat, drink, & have fun!

In July, August and September I lead easy to moderate luxury walking tours in the beautiful Dolomites region of northern Italy. I will be headed back for my forth summer there and I feel like I have found NIRVANA - this place is totally off-the-charts-amazing! Everywhere you look is like a postcard, the weather is great, the walks and views spectacular, the peace and harmony and the vibe of the place is relaxing and infectious and it's probably the best overall place to walk and enjoy nature in the world.

In this relatively unknown area of Italy we stay in great hotels in unique places, enjoy fabulous local food and wines, explore "off-the -beaten-path" places, meet fascinating and friendly local people, and I'll knock your socks off with the incredible walks I've found.

Every October/November I organize a three week trek (walking with no climbing) to the base of Mt. Everest in Nepal, which I sometimes lead and sometimes one of my best friends leads it - mountain guide Steve Tickle. I've been visiting Nepal for close to 30 years (Steve for 10 years) - we both love the warm and friendly people and the incredible mountain scenery there.

The Dolomites are a one-of-a-kind spectacular mountain range of steep limestone cliffs, peaks, spires and gorges, situated in north-eastern Italy and centered just south of the Austrian/Swiss/Italian borders. At the crossroads between Northern and Southern Europe, the region has a diverse, fascinating culture; and a melting pot of art, architecture, people and food. The Dolomites take their name from Déodat de Dolomieu, the French geologist who discovered the unique chemical composition of these unparalleled mountains.

We just got back from seeing the sights in Naples and Rome, watched the sunset and shopped in Capri, saw Paul McCarthy in London and saw the tennis at Wimbledon ! but the Dolomites was still the highlight of our trip to Europe.! - - Tod and Diane S. - Oklahoma.
